Organizing Wrapping Supplies
After you’ve created a list of who you want to give holiday gifts to this year (and added a few gift ideas next to each name), it’s time to start thinking about wrapping supplies. Decide on a particular theme or color scheme you’d like all your wrapping supplies to coordinate with.
Here are a few of the supplies you’ll need:
- Wrapping paper
- Transparent tape
- Gift tags
- Ribbon or bows
For recipients such as co-workers or neighbors, it’s a good idea to go with a very basic holiday color scheme. Choose from the traditional holiday colors of green, red, gold, blue or silver.
How much wrapping paper should you buy? Only buy enough wrapping supplies for what you’ll need. A standard wrapping paper roll is 30” long and contains 3 yards (or 9 feet) of paper. Though it can be tempting to snag a great deal by stocking up, excess holiday wrapping supplies can quickly become clutter. To help you estimate, a small shirt box will require about 15” of paper per box and a large sweater box will need roughly 34” of paper per box.
