Getting Ready for Holiday Guests
As holiday guests begin to finalize their plans, it’s a good idea to start getting ready for holiday guests and tidying your guestrooms.
If your guest bedrooms have become temporary storage rooms or contain lots of clutter, tackle it now.
Schedule a day to thoroughly organize each room and donate or throw away any unwanted items. If you’re short on time, store everything in bins and temporarily store them in a closet or the garage.
To get your home guest-ready, schedule time in your calendar to do the following:
1. Pull Extra Linens From Storage
This includes sheets, blankets, pillows and bath towels. Launder, fold and store the items until they’re needed.
2. Clean Each Guestroom
Dust and vacuum each room, paying close attention to areas typically neglected such as baseboards, windowsills and ceiling fans.
3. Remove Personal Items
Move any personal items displayed on the nightstand, dresser or guest bathroom counter to another room or location.
4. Create a Care Package
Stock each guest bedroom with a few bottles of water, some snacks and toiletries such as toothpaste, soap and a bottle of lotion. It will make your guests feel right at home.
I hope these tips will help start getting ready for holiday guests so you can enjoy a great time together!
